What happens during the winter solstice?
As the Earth goes around the sun, we experience a constant and gradual increase or decrease in the sunlight, which directly affects our biochemistry. We all know that the energy of the sun is what makes life possible, combined with the minerals & water of the earth. We are so used to this rhythm that it is unnoticeable to us just like the rotation of the Earth around its axis. Now imagine what would happen if you are moving at high speed in a car and then it suddenly stops. This is what happens during the winter solstice - the influence of our conditionings, beliefs, habits, and so on is the weakest. Therefore, it’s easier than any other time of the year to “reprogram” and get rid of negative conditionings and manifest your deepest desires.
To understand how we can benefit from the winter solstice, we need to explain certain terms and get to the fundamental principles. Not everyone is interested in knowing how something works, so if you are one of those people, feel free to skip this section.
Life is based on duality, just like a coin that has 2 sides that are inseparable and opposite, but part of the same thing. The 2 sides of Life coin are often called unmanifest and manifest. Unmanifest represents Consciousness & Will, where Consciousness is passive and Will is active. Manifest is composed of Energy & Matter, with Energy being more active and Matter - simply slower-moving energy. The “active” and “passive” are symbolized by Yang and Yin respectively in Chinese Medicine and philosophy.
The Energy part has been referred to as Spirit in Ancient Egyptian teachings, in psychology it’s called Psyche or Subconscious. The Spirit/Psyche is what manifests what we will (desire), if the conditions are right. During and close to the winter solstice is the time that the Spirit is most receptive to the Will, because our Matter (body with all of its complex patterns) has the least influence on us. Timing is essential, just like with planting seeds or impregnating a woman. No wonder that Spirit is often compared to a woman, and is governed by the moon cycles, while Consciousness and Will - by the Sun. When sun is standing still it creates perfect conditions to “marry divine masculine, which is Will, and divine feminine, which is Spirit”. The seed will always have its potential to become a tree or a baby, but it will remain a potential unless it can pass it on to its Yin/passive/female counterpart - soil or womb in this example. That is exactly what we are working on achieving this December. We will prepare the soil, our Spirit or Psyche, to carry out what our Will declares. In other words, we will plant seeds of our goals and dreams.
Whoa! That’s probably the most esoteric part. I really hope that wasn’t too complicated, and even if it was, it’s ok. We are getting closer to getting down to actual steps of what needs to be done.

I have simplified a lot of information in the attempt to make it easier to put into practice.
